Breath
He looks disheveled, his walk was so frightening and rugged. Backing away from the scene it was as if I was watching the rebirth of someone so sweet become something worse. āNortonā¦ā The mentioned male leans back, letting out a breath of air before he smirks and threw his pickax. The weapon had barely missed my face and my heart sinks to the ground, I start to let out a weak cry but couldnāt move.
Until my body moved on its own, his gruntled groans with his vile laughter and strange calls. I stop, āNorton if this is you, pleaseā¦give me a sign.ā It was quiet and yet hearing his footsteps gave me nothing but chills, however. I felt my back connect to his hand and he whispers to me, it was still so distorted.
Iām not sure why but I carefully try to hold him close. It felt, normal, hugging Norton again while he rests on my chest. It didnāt take long for us to let each other go but I tried to see that beautiful face of his and yet it wasnāt there. Just the tired eyes of a man who just wanted to survive, āWhat happened to you Norton?ā
He couldnāt even answer the question, āIām just glad youāre okay dear. But you need to snap out of it for me.ā Nortonās reactions were odd, very telling that he was what Alice called a hunter. Maybe he doesnāt look like my Norton but he still is the prospector who loved my cooking.
āDo you still enjoy pie?ā
He nods, so I canāt understand one him but he can understand me. āAlright alright.ā
āLets go.ā Holding his hand I walk ahead. He trudged behind me so obediently, it was honestly strange. It was as if I was walking with the same quiet man who was stuffing his face with my fruit tarts, and drinking milk alongside me. āDonāt worry Norton. Iāll fix this for us.ā
